Ladyhawker - On Sabbatical

I am a Woman Falconer! Falconry is a part of my life and personality. In no way however should anyone construe my life and writings to be the example of all falconers. This blog is about my experiences, and it includes my personal life as well. For now, I am in school and cannot practice this sport, so there is not much falconry related stuff to write about. I will fly a bird again . . . Some Day!

At the end of the day . . . it is the friendships we make that are the most rewarding catches! It was great hawking with you ladies!! Let's do it again!
It was such a lovely day on Saturday! Here Brenna in the foreground, and Nina in the background, soak up some Illinois sun while all the women falconers and hawk enthusiasts socialize and have brunch inside the SOAR facilities.
Some falconers are able to form very close bonds with their birds, and the bird responds back. Heather Henry demonstrates how sweet her Brenna is. But don't be fooled . . . on game . . . she's wicked!! Brenna that is!
