Ladyhawker - On Sabbatical

I am a Woman Falconer! Falconry is a part of my life and personality. In no way however should anyone construe my life and writings to be the example of all falconers. This blog is about my experiences, and it includes my personal life as well. For now, I am in school and cannot practice this sport, so there is not much falconry related stuff to write about. I will fly a bird again . . . Some Day!

Nina and I, giving an educational talk for the Jr. Whitetails Unlimited

Educational Talk

On the evening of Wednesday, June 28, I gave an educational talk in Marshfield, Wisconsin for the Jr. Whitetails Unlimited. It was a large gathering . . . a bit bigger than I had expected, but all turned out well. The folks, especially the kids, asked lots of really good questions. And I hope everyone enjoyed the presentation, and learned a little something about falconry. A couple reporters asked me questions, and I gave them my blog address. So, I don't know if anyone might come and visit based on a newspaper article. If so . . . Welcome!! I invite any newcomers to please read my blog . . . and be sure to not miss the archived pages. There are links at the top of the blog. Mostly, this is about falconry. But, when there is nothing going on falconry-related in my life, I sometimes write about other stuff too!

I will be giving another talk at the end of the summer, at the 6th Annual Necedah Lions Whooping Crane and Wildlife Festival. That's going to be Saturday, September 16. The link is as follows: www.whooping-crane-festival.com

This is a fun, family-oriented event, and a great outting for all! Come to Necedah, learn about the historic reintroduction program going on with Whooping Cranes, see my falconry demo, and listen to other interesting speakers about a variety of outdoor and wildlife topics.

I hope to see many people there!!

:-)
